iGEM 2018

Synthetic Biology is an emerging field with far reaching applications and potential. This ranges from cancer therapies and chemotherapy drugs, regenerative medicine or even protecting crops from certain insects.

The iGEM team of 2018 is a multidisciplinary team with knowledge in chemical biology, chemistry, computional biology and renegerative medicine. Using this broad knowledge, we aim to utilize the potential of the synthetic biology field in several ways. We will engage industry partners and other stakeholders to generate societal value. Besides this, we also aim to create an application to improve healthcare and treatment of disease. Moreover, we will also look at the broad perspective. We will involve human practices in our research. How can we implant our application in society? What would be the impact on society? Everything comes together in this project.
