The concept is not really a solution on a problem. OTTO is a product that anticipates on the growing market of wooden furniture and the new concept were costumers can customize products online and order directly from the factory.
OTTO is a Teckel-shaped bench (120 x 70 x 35 cm) for children between 2 and 8 years old. It is suitable for living/children rooms, playgrounds and parks. It's unique, enthusiastic and joyful appearance creates a natural point of attention. OTTO's components can be put together without using tools as glue, screws or nails. It is a sort of big construction box which can be completed with the whole family, just slide all the pieces into each other! There is also a mini OTTO which is a small timber 3D puzzle for a child. I wanted to pay attention to sustainability in use of materials and production. For the prototype I used MDF because it is cheap and easy in production, but for the real product I want to use a better type of timber. All the components are made with the same thickness and timber, so it is very efficient to use a miller or laser machine. Each OTTO can be customized. The name of the child, logo's or expressions can be engraved in the leaning.
